Pandora Hearts - Information part 2

CHARACTERS INFORMATIONS

Vessalius Dukedom

Oz Vessalius (オズ=ベザリウス Ozu Bezariusu)
The main character of the story, Oz is a 15-year-old boy with blond hair and green eyes and is from the prestigious Vessalius family, whose father, Zai, is the reigning lord. His mother was killed by the Nightray family, but despite this, he retains a bright, optimistic, and energetic personality. The story of Pandora Hearts starts when Oz turns fifteen. During the ceremony to celebrate this reaching of adulthood, he was dragged into the Abyss for the 'sin of his existence'. There he meets a young girl named Alice who turns out to be a Chain. Oz makes a contract with her in order to escape the Abyss. Upon returning to the real world, he finds out that 10 years have passed. In order to find out what his sin meant, he began to work under Break as part of Pandora. During this, it is shown that when he was young, he worked hard to gain praise and recognition from his father. However, he had discovered that his father hated him to the point of not wanting to touch him. After experiencing this, Oz began to think that there is no guaranteed thing in the world. He thought of himself as weak and, in order to protect people, he should at least remain an obedient child and let harm come his way. After traveling into the Cheshire Cat's lair, Oz meets Jack Vessalius and in turn becomes his 'medium'. Jack eventually speaks at Pandora's headquarters and the public hail Oz as a 'hero'. Oz finds that he can swap control of his body with Jack if he calls hard enough and may sometimes even see snippets of Jack's memories. According to himself he is quite skilled with the sword, particularly in self defense. However, he has very little real experience in fighting. Oz likes cute, younger girls and flirts with them frequently. He once wished to marry Sharon when they first met. Oz, himself, thinks of Alice as his precious someone, calling her his "sun". He believes that Alice is the reason that he can still smile.
Jack tells Oz that he has the "right" or "prerequisite" over Alice's powers and that a seal won't restrain Alice's powers any longer, giving Oz the ability to use B-Rabbit's power, even without Alice's permission or Gil's help. Oz proves it when he was able to stop Alice's B-Rabbit's power temporarily on his own; another time when Oz was almost kidnapped by the Baskervilles at Latowidge, and then recently when he was able to summon B-Rabbit's scythe to fluently fight his assailants inside Sablier's illusion, despite the fact he had never used a scythe before. According to Lotti, Oz was supposed to be the vessel for the sake of hiding the existence of Jack Vessalius and should the vessel be broken, Jack’s existence will be brought to light and the further warping of abyss’s will, who seeks for him, will most probably interfere with the real world. Later, Oz reunites with Gilbert and immediately meets with the person behind Oz's suicidal nature: Zai Vessalius, his father. It has been seen in chapter 45 that Oz has had a will to destroy everything until Alice stops him. In chapter 46, however, according to Break, Oz may not be the real Oz Vessalius, as during his birth, Oz's father suddenly took him away and perhaps did something to him or changed him for another baby.
Oz's Seiyū is Junko Minagawa.
Alice (アリス Arisu?)
The heroine of the story with a height of 150 cm. Alice first appears as a chain that persuades Oz to form a contract with her in the Abyss. In fact, she is actually the infamous B-Rabbit (Bloody Black Rabbit), the most powerful chain in the Abyss. Alice's goal is to find her lost memories, which plays a major role in the story. In human form, Alice has long dark brown hair with two side plaits. She has a huge appetite and loves meat especially. She is hotheaded and loud-spoken and says what she thinks without regard to the consequences. Despite this, she has a soft side, especially when Oz is involved. She hates when Oz leaves her alone, but to hide it she usually says, "I'm in a contract with you. You are my manservant, and as a manservant, what were you thinking, leaving me behind!?" or she just hits Oz and says, "Shut up".
It also appears that she is developing feelings for Oz, being that she considers his health when using her powers. In chapter 41, she bites his cheeks to make him feel better, copying a picture Sharon showed her thinking it was biting instead of a kiss. Also, in episode 20, she tells Sharon, who threatens her to tell her what she has on her mind, that she felt left out and ignored when Oz went to talk with Break without her and when he was happy to see his sister. Also, in chapter 60, Alice senses Oz is upset. Thinking that the biting was still a kiss (sort of), she bites him several times, pushing him to the floor to bite his ear that begins to bleed.
She was in Sabrie when the city was dragged into the Abyss. Alice wanted to forget about that event, because it was a very painful one. In her memories we see Jack Vessalius, the hero of 100 years ago.
Alice's Seiyū are Yukari Tamura (Drama CD) and Ayako Kawasumi (Anime).
Jack Vessalius (ジャック=ベザリウス Jakku Bezariusu)
The hero of 100 years ago and the one who 'defeated' Glen Baskerville. He is revealed to have been Gilbert's master 100 years ago, having taken in both him and Vincent. He has some sort of connection with Alice's memories. Jack looks like a grown-up Oz with a long plait. His personality is also similar; Like Oz, he does things at his own pace and is loud and cheerful. Oz and Gilbert meet him when they are taken to the Cheshire Cat's dimension. He is currently residing in Oz's body and can 'possess' Oz and speak through him. When in control, Jack also has full control of Alice's chain power. Jack was the third son of the Vessalius family who was, before the Tragedy of Sabrie, a third-rate noble family. Thus, with no expectations from his family, he acted quite freely: always smiling, joking and flirting with girls. Jack was also a self-proclaimed music box maker. His best friend at that time was Glen Baskerville. Jack crafted a pocket watch for him and Glen wrote the melody, titled "Lacie". The pocket watch's melody was said to be a song that Lacie always sang to herself. Later, Jack killed Glen because he started the Tragedy of Sablier (because he believed that without Lacie, there was no meaning to life) and tried to kill Jack. Although hailed as a hero for this act, Jack did not want to kill his best friend. In a later entry in Jack Vessalius's diary, he wrote: "I have killed my best friend. Please... Please do not call me a hero." He also shows true anger when Lottie suggested that he killed Glen to gain fame and glory. Jack reveals, through his speech when he first possesses Oz, that Glen is still living. Despite this, he says to the Baskervilles that if they wish to repeat the past, he will once again turn his body into a blade that will destroy the Death Gods.
Jack's Seiyū is Daisuke Ono.
Oscar Vessalius (オスカー=ベザリウス Osukā Bezariusu?)
Oz's uncle. He is easy-going and very caring. Oscar was the one who found Gilbert and brought him to the Vessalius Dukedom. Both Oz and Gilbert treat him as a father figure. He gets along well with Break. When he received a letter from Ada (in which she stated that she had found someone who she likes), he took Oz, Gilbert and Alice to Lutwidge. He was said to be married to a sickly woman and had hopes of bearing a child. It's assumed she passed away without the chance to bear a child, as the camera he was going to use to take a picture of his son with was never used.
Oscar's Seiyū is Hideyuki Umezu.
Ada Vessalius (エイダ=ベザリウス Eida Bezariusu)
Oz's little sister who adores him very much. After 10 years she attends Lutwidge (ラトウィッジ), a prestigious school for nobles, of which she is a prefect. She keeps in contact with Oscar via letter and causes Oz and his friends to sneak into Lutwidge as she wrote that she has found a person she likes. It is revealed that she was the one who gave Gilbert his precious hat, that made Oz and Oscar think that Gilbert is the one that Ada likes. Then she asked Oz to let her be the one to return Elliot's bag, but when Oz said that he will return Elliot's bag by himself, Ada was slightly disappointed. However, in the later chapters she is seen on a date with Vincent. She has a cat named Dinah and later another one named Snowdrop. It is revealed later, much to Vincent's astonishment, that she has been studying about the Abyss and the occult in order to find a way to bring her brother back from the Abyss, but, during her studies, she has grown an interest in the occult.
Ada's Seiyū is Kaori Fukuhara.
Zai Vessalius (ザイ=ベザリウス Zai Bezariusu?)
Oz and Ada's father. Appeared only in a flashback until chapter 39. He is depicted with a cold attitude toward his son and explicitly rejected him. In chapter 40 it is shown he has a large scar across his face and is responsible for sending his son to the Abyss. He controls the Gryphon chain. Although the Duke Nightray tells Elliot to hate the Vessalius, he and Zai seem to be friends. It was revealed that he was who planned sending Oz to the Abyss, along with the other Baskervilles. He knows where the Baskerville's final door was. He is the one that sent Oz to the Abyss with the power of his Chain, the Gryphon, and he is the one who Gilbert protected from being slashed.
Rachel Cecile (レイチェル=セシル Reicheru Seshiru)
Oz and Ada's mother. Not much is known beyond the suspicion that the Nightrays caused her death.

Nightray Dukedom

Gilbert Nightray (ギルバート=ナイトレイ Girubāto Naitorei)
Also known as Gil or Raven. He is Oz's best friend and loyal servant. Oz is his most important person, for whom he is willing to sacrifice anything; this protectiveness is compounded by the fact that he was brainwashed by Miranda Barma to protect Jack Vessalius (and therefore Oz, who is his medium) even if it means killing. When Gil is drunk, he reverts to his fourteen-year-old self, an insecure crybaby. He cares deeply about the hat that Ada gave him. He is a great cook, terrified of cats, unable to quit smoking in eight attempts, and constantly afraid that as Oz grows, he will be left behind.
Gil is shown to have become close to Alice, despite his constant arguing with her. Though at first wanting to kill her in chapter 35, Gil saves Alice when she falls down in a small rockside later in the chapter.
Gil was Jack's servant 100 years ago, but he was killed by Glen along with Jack, in order to save him, his brother Vincent opened a path to the Abyss. (It is later revealed that Gil was killed in order to serve as Glen's new vessel, and when Vincent interrupted the ceremony the Tragedy occurred.) He was taken in as a servant by the current Vessalius family fifteen years ago, after he was discovered injured and amnesiac in the Vessalius gardens. He came to be Oz's closest friend, and was invited to be a part of the boy's coming-of-age ceremony. During the ceremony, Zwei uses her chain Doldum to control his body and forces him to attack Oz. After he regains consciousness, he recognizes one of the Baskervilles as Oz's father and when Oz attacks the man with a sword, Gilbert takes the wound and falls unconsciously.
Gil remains loyal to Oz during his time in the Abyss. Shortly after the ceremony, he is approached by Xerxes Break who arranges his adoption into the Nightray family in exchange for inside information on the family's doings. He views this as a betrayal, since the Nightrays are the prime suspects in the assassination of Oz's mother, but he agrees to join the family when he learns that contracting their chain 'Raven' might give him the power to rescue Oz. He trains in gunmanship and eventually kills the Nightray family before the chain deems him worthy to contract with it.
Once he obtains the chain, he takes the name Raven and goes to work for Break as a member of Pandora. When Oz returns from the Abyss, Gil is the first one at his side. Initially, Oz is unaware that 'Raven' is Gil, but during the second battle with Zwei his true identity is revealed. Gilbert uses his chain's power to bind B-Rabbit, keeping Alice in her human form and preventing Oz's seal from moving when they are not in battle.
It's shown in Retrace 45 that he has always had the right to make the contract with Raven, which leads him to gaining the chain. It is also said that Gilbert had been poisoned on a targeted attack against the Nightrays by a mysterious headhunter.
Gilbert's Seiyū is Azuma Sakamoto (younger) and Katsuyuki Konishi (CD drama) and Toriumi Kousuke (Anime) (older).
Vincent Nightray (ヴィンセント=ナイトレイ Vinsento Naitorei)
Vincent is Gilbert's younger brother by one year. As the Vessalius family found Gilbert, the Nightray family similarly adopted Vincent. His left eye is golden like Gilbert's, but his right eye is wine-red and his long hair is golden in color. He loves his brother Gilbert to the point of slight obsession. He has an easy-going personality on the outside and is often seen smiling. However, it is shown that Vincent also has a dark, unstable side. He has a habit of carrying around scissors and cutting up stuffed animals with them. Break is often at odds with him, which is fueled by Vincent sending Echo to attack Sharon. Vincent is from 100 years ago. In Alice's memory, a young Vincent is seen walking among corpses, gouging out eyes and intestines with a pair of scissors saying that "It's not my fault, it's that person's fault, it's all because of that person," he was doing this to save his brother. He is also shown to be in alliance with the Baskervilles. It was him who called Zwei out from Echo, telling Echo that she is not required anymore in order to release her other personality. He is seen going on a date with Ada Vessalius shortly after those events. In one of the most recent chapters that gives some insight into their date, they are discussing the situation concerning the Headhunting. Meanwhile his true thoughts show that he may be planning to harm Ada in order to draw Gilbert's attention, believing that she is an important person to Gil. Later chapters have shown that he has become Ada's lover in order to "taint her" as well as make her a pawn in order to retrieve the Key to the Abyss from Oscar Vessalius. Later chapters showed some of his time during 100 years ago. Due to the belief that red eyes will bring disasters, Gilbert and Vincent used to live on the streets where people would attack them whenever Vincent's eye was revealed. This continues until Jack Vessalius found them and brought them under his wings. The brothers then became his servants. He was fond of Jack, who didn't care about his eye and even cut Vincent's hair which was used to hide his red eye, stating that Jack "loves" it. Vincent also called him Master like his brother did. It was also shown that Jack tried to introduce the two to Alice since they were in closer age to her. Unfortunately, Alice immediately made fun of Vincent's red eye which caused Gilbert to pull her hair. This incident fueled Vincent's hatred towards Alice since she had made Gil "showed that kind of expression again" and Jack sighs in worry and began his habit of tearing up dolls (often rabbits) out of frustration and hatred. He is the prime suspect of Alice's death because of his hatred and his placement in Alice's memories. In one flash-back, Vincent is shown threatening Alice and even giving her the corpse of her cat, Cheshire, after he'd gouged the cat's eyes out. When Vincent found out about Gil's death and how he will be Glen's next body through a ritual from Alice, he was visited by a mysterious lady (later revealed as Miranda Barma) who told him how to prevent the ritual by opening the Abyss's door. Though he had succeeded in saving Gil, Vincent had caused the Tragedy to happen, making himself a "child of misfortune". He has a contract with the Doormouse.
It is revealed in Retrace 61 that he was the real headhunter all along and had formed an illegal contract with a chain called Demios. He also forms a pact with Leo asking him to either kill him or erase his existence form to world so his brother, Gilbert, can "stay in the sunshine forever."
Vincent's Seiyū is Jun Fukuyama (older) and Fuyuka Ōura (younger).
Echo (エコー Ekõ)
Vincent's personal servant. She is somehow emotionless, like a puppet and she treats Vincent's words as law. Oz calls her "Echo-chan". Echo fights with blades that come out of her long sleeves. It may seem that Vincent treasures her, but he actually does not care that much. In Chapter 23, he goes as far as to poison her to prove that the antidote for the poison that he poisoned Shalon with works. Echo is shown to have her own mind when she saves the bottle of antidote that Vincent almost drops off the veranda, because she remember what Oz said the first time they meet. In Chapter 33 she admits that she finds Vincent annoying. She seems to developed feelings for Oz after both of them go to the festival together and Oz shows her what it is like to have fun, he also gives her a hair ornament which he was supposed to give to the girl he likes, although he didn't know that. In recent chapters she is known to have another personality called Noise, who is actually Zwei. Noise loves Vincent deeply and, according to herself, is the original personality inside Echo's body. Zwei controls a chain called Duldum that can control other people or immobilize them using strings. Zwei used her chain to immobilize Gilbert, and also used it within Echo to capture Shalon.
With Zwei in possession of the body, she rejoins the Baskerville group and goes to Sablier along with Lottie, where she meets Elliot and Leo. She immobilizes Leo using her chain, Duldum, but is only able to control his body, not his mind. Meanwhile Lottie stops Elliot. It is shown that Break thinks it's unfair for him stabbing her through the hand and stomach after she had saved the antidote that saved Sharon's life.
Echo's Seiyū is Ryō Hirohashi.
Elliot Nightray (エリオット=ナイトレイ Eriotto Naitorei)
A student at Lutwidge that, along with Reo, catches Oz's attention as they can play the tune from his pocket watch. He first meets Oz in the Latowidge library where they get into a fight over a character in the novel series "Holy Knight" (Elliot spoils the ending for Oz's favorite character, Edgar). He also doesn't like Ada calling his name and despises how the Vessalius seem to get away with anything just because they were heroes 100 years ago. Ada, however, thinks he is a nice and dependable person deep down. He is the legitimate heir of the Nightray Dukedom and consequently the brother of the adopted Vincent and Gilbert. He is adept with the sword and keeps a blade with his family crest in a violin case. Elliot has a strong sense of right and wrong and tends to say things without consideration to the other party. It is through this straightforwardness, however, that Oz finally overcomes the shadows of his past. He has said that the tune he and Leo were playing was composed by him and is called "Lacie", implying a strong connection between him and Glen Baskerville. He is also shown to suffer from nightmares, which later on in Chapter 39 is implied that Eliot possesses some of Glen's memories. Elliot meets Oz and co. at Sablier in chapter 34. He takes them into the Nightray's orphanage at Sablier, where Oz meets Phillipe. Elliot sticks up for Oz when Zai shows up.
After these events, Elliot hears about a mysterious killer known as the head hunter who in the past was targeting members of his family, also killing his brothers. Upon hearing that there was another murder committed by the same person, he attempts to find the killer himself.
In chapter 49, Elliot is shown worried about Reo, since he hasn't talked to Elliot a lot lately, and seems to be feeling unwell at Oz's second coming of age ceremony.
Elliot is also shocked when he sees Reo talking to Isla Yura, and wonders what their connection may be. He seems to be upset that Reo didn't tell him anything, ending up in a heavy fight with him.
In Retrace 52, Elliot faints with a vision of his nightmare where he kills everyone with his sword and after waking up and finding Vanessa dead, Break accuses Elliot of being the Headhunter. In Retrace 57, it is found that he is the Headhunter.
In Retrace 58 it is revealed that during a past trip to the orphanage in Sablier he and Leo went looking for several missing children that had wandered in to the hole that connected to the Abyss. They found two of the children killed and upon Leo finding a third child, they were attacked by one of the orphans that had lost control of Humpty Dumpty. Attempting to protect Leo, Elliot was skewered by Humpty Dumpty and almost died. Leo stopped Humpty Dumpty and made Elliot drink its blood and pronounce its name in order for Elliot to form a contract and be saved. Elliot forgot everything afterwards, believing that he had only 'slipped, hit his head, and was knocked out on the ground'. He later overhears his older brothers Claude and Ernest talking about murdering Gilbert and Vincent. They had planned to set fire to their house while their mother, Elliot, and the rest of the household escape, leaving Gilbert and Vincent to burn to death. Elliot, enraged, attempts to come out of hiding to confront them when Ernest adds that they will also kill Leo. Overcome with shock, Elliot unconsciously summoned Humpty Dumpty and killed his brothers. Humpty Dumpty causes him to once more forget what he had done and he has been living in denial since. However, since he remembered everything in Retrace 58, the wounds from before he contracted with Humpty Dumpty return.
As it turns out, the supposed implications of Elliot being the next container of Glen Baskerville is false. The memories from Retrace 39 are actually from when he killed his brothers, not from the Tragedy of Sablier. It is in fact Leo who had written the revised version of 'Lacie' and Elliot claimed credit because of his anger at Oz.
In Retrace 59, Elliot is asked by his chain (Humpty Dumpty) to forget all that he has just remembered. Elliot wants to remember however it is against his chain's wishes. Vincent tells him that by rejecting his chain, he could perform a double suicide with his chain. Realizing that If he were to stay alive, other people would have to carry the burden of his life as well as the fact that he was soon going to die anyway (due to the injuries that reappeared and his seal's revolution) he decided to reject his chain; both he and Humpty Dumpty died.
In Retrace 61 in a flashback during when Vincent was with Elliot nearing death Elliot whispered something to Vincent that need to be delievered to Leo. Vincent told Leo that the message was "I'm sorry, Leo."
Elliot's Seiyū is Hirofumi Nojima
Leo (リーオ Reo)
A boy with dark messy hair and round glasses. He is a student at Lutwidge and serves Eliot. He has a calm and collected demeanor and is hardly rattled by anything. Leo is very observant and discovered Oz's identity as an intruder. Despite being Elliot's servant, he doesn't always take his side and will make him apologize if needed. Also, Leo could hit Eliot if he's doing or saying something wrong to his eyes. He is rarely seen without Eliot. Leo carries a gun and is apparently hopeless with it and swords, according to Elliot. In chapter 49 Eliot witnesses a chat between Leo and Isla Yura, wondering how they are related. Leo thinks Isla Yura is the culprit of the deaths of six children of the orphanage and the one who made Phillipe forget about his fathers's death; being this the first time we get to see him acting saddened, angry and restless.
In retrace 50 Leo tells Oz the way he and Eliot met two years ago, revealing that they indeed disliked each other at first but with the mutual love for piano they developed a bond through music. Eliot says Leo always beat the people who tried to cut his hair. When Eliot asks why he wants to hide his eyes (since they are such a "beautiful color," according to Eliot's thoughts) Leo answers that he doesn't want to hide his eyes but he doesn't want to see. Eliot doesn't get it and Leo responds that he doesn't want to see the world. Leo asks him to buy him a pair of glasses so that everything would be fine (it means he doesn't really need them.)
Leo rejected Eliot when the second asked him to be his servant, but at the end he accepted because "he was interested in the Nightray Houshold's books collection".
Leo tells Oz he reveres Eliot and that he'd kill any of Eliot's enemies even if it's Oz or himself and also asks Oz to kill him with his own hands if he ends up being the main suspect of danger. :In Retrace 58 it is revealed that he is the one who made Elliot become a contractor. He is also the one who composed 'Lacie'. While panicking for Elliot who had been fatally wounded by Humpty Dumpty, mysterious figures appeared in his mind and told him the only way to save Elliot would be to make him for a contract with Humpty Dumpty. It is later on shown that one of the figures is Glen Baskerville, making Leo the next 'container' for his soul.
In Retrace 61 Vincent goes to ask Leo a favour saying that he will serve him in return also letting him know that he is the head of the Baskervilles. Leo agrees but only if he would cut his own hair (which we know from Retrace 50 that he almost killed a man trying to do so) due to him being "tired of hiding." Leo's face is revealed to be almost identical to Alice's. According to the text around the previous page, his eyes are black with pools of reflected light; like the abyss.
Reo's Seiyū is Akeno Watanabe
Fred, Claude and Ernest Nightray
Older brothers to Elliot Nightray who were killed by the mysterious head hunter seen in Chapter 45. Fred was the first to be killed, which resulted in Ernest and Claude going after the head hunter while instructing Elliot to flee the country with their mother. The brothers appear to have disliked Vincent and Gilbert, warning Elliot to stay away from them as they did not consider them a part of the Nightray family. Elliot himself they seemed to have dotted on. Claude was upset with their father for allowing Gilbert to form a contract with Raven as he was not a descendant of the Nightray family.:Ernest is the one who tells Eliot that as he's already fourteen, he needs a servant (in a fashion way), and then takes him to Sablier to choose between the orphans. Claude and Ernest ended up getting scolded for taking him to Sablier before he matured like his father wanted before telling him about Sablier.
Vanessa Nightray
Elliot's older sister, not much is known about her but she seems to dislike Oz. It is known that Vanessa and Elliot were very close and that she taught him of things like the language of flowers. In Retrace 52, Vanessa becomes another victim to the head hunter thus being beheaded just like Fred, Claude and Ernest before her.
Duchess Nightray
The mother of Elliot, Fred, Claude, Ernest and Vanessa. It is said that her sanity began to crumble when her eldest sons were murdered by the headhunter. She was then manipulated by Isla Yura, and became part of his cult. In Retrace 56, she is shown greeting Elliot in a room where Reo lies on an altar, ready to be sacrificed for the purpose of Yura's ritual, much to Elliot's horror. Not much is known about her other than the fact that she is clearly insane. Its implied that she is in fact the one who killed four of her children. She is killed in Retrace 57 by Elliot.

Rainsworth Dukedom

Sharon Rainsworth (シャロン=レインズワース Sharon Reinzuwāsu)
The Lady of the Rainsworth household. Sharon is a member of Pandora and looks like a fourteen year old girl, although she is technically 23 years old. Her appearance does not change from her first meeting with Oz to after he came out of the Abyss because she has a legal contract with a chain, the black unicorn Eques. Sharon and Break have a close relationship. She was the one that discovered Break in a fatal condition after he came out of the Abyss. When she was young, she used to call Break 'Xerx-nii', as he was like a big brother to her. She wants to be of use to him. She also looks a lot like her mother, Shelly Rainsworth. While Oz and co. were taken into the Cheshire Cat's dimension, Sharon was abducted by Echo under the orders of Vincent Nightray, who poisoned Sharon in order to blackmail Break into destroying the memories from the Tragedy of Sablier that Break attained from the Cheshire Cat. Despite Sharon protesting to Break to not destroy the memories, which took the form of the bell Cheshire wore around his neck, Break destroyed the memories in exchange for the poison's antidote. Sharon develops a queen complex when she drinks, which Oz strangely finds cool. She likes the concept of "love" and tries to teach Alice about it. In episode 20, she wanted Alice to call her "big sister." In the second DVD special, she tries to teach Alice "her status as a female." Also in episode 20, she beat Oz with a paper fan after Alice told her that she and Oz already kissed, later apologizing.
After Oz and co. return from Sablier, Sharon realizes Break still thinks of her as fragile. She then makes a resolution to be of more use to Break, and joins Oz, Gil, and Alice when they go to locate a seal encasing one of Jack's body parts. While at the location of the seal, the group is attacked and Sharon realizes she takes the power of her chain for granted. Since then she has decided that she is powerless but is determined to get stronger.
Sharon's Seiyū are Yui Horie (Drama CD) and Hanazawa Kana (Anime).
Xerxes Break (ザークシーズ=ブレイク Zākushīzu Bureiku)
Commonly known as Break, he is a member of Pandora and a servant of the Rainsworth Dukedom. Break's appearance does not change from the ten year gap between Oz entering and leaving the Abyss. He has an illegal contract with the Mad Hatter. Break is often seen with a doll on his shoulder, which he calls Emily. He adores sweets and cakes. From the outside, Break seems like a carefree character, never serious and always smiling. When needs be, however, Break shows his dangerous and evil side. Reim tells Oz that Break has not always been the way he is now. Before, after losing his eye, he was a bitter and angry person, never smiling. However, through the kindness of Shelly, Sharon's mother, he began to open up. He has sworn absolute loyalty to Shelly.
Break has no left eye. He reveals that the Intention of the Abyss took it from him and that the Cheshire has it. Break's true motive is to find the truth behind what happened 100 years ago. He hates Vincent with a passion.
It was revealed by Rufus Barma in chapter 29 that his real name is Kevin Regnard. Break was originally a knight who served under the noble family Sinclair until they were mysteriously massacred for political reasons. His lord was killed during the incident while Kevin and the daughter of the lord were out. Kevin blamed himself for his carelessness, and became an illegal contractor ,with a chain named Albus the White Knight ,to try to change the past. When his clock made a full revolution, he was pulled into Abyss where he met the Intention of the Abyss and a young Vincent. The Intention of the Abyss once changed the past for Break. In return, Break was asked to fulfilled her wish. Her wish was to not be the Will of the Abyss anymore and to help her save Alice, according to Chapter 63 in the manga. Break then was sent to the Rainsworth house over 30 years later of his own time.
The changed past wasn't really what Break wanted. The Sinclair family was still murdered. According to Cheryl, the oldest daughter of the house was assassinated, which led the younger daughter to become an illegal contractor and got sent to Abyss after her Chain murdered the entire family. The political massacre did not happen and Kevin's lord lived for 4 years longer, but instead, the little girl who originally survived the incident died. Break blames himself for that. For one moment he also blamed the Intention of the Abyss, but he realizes that he was the one who asked for the past to be changed, and in reality, he really just wanted to erase his own guilt. In Retrace 42, it is shown that Break has lost his eyesight, causing him to be blind. It is later revealed in Chapter 43, however, that Break has not gone completely blind' although he can no longer discern faces, he can make out general objects.
Break's Seiyū are Toshihiko Seki (drama CD) and Ishida Akira (anime).

Barma Dukedom

Rufus Barma (ルーファス=バルマ Rūfasu Baruma)
Voiced by: Yūya Uchida
The last of the four dukes. Rufus is known as the longest living duke and is a very knowledgeable person. He holds information on almost all topics and even knows people's personalities and is thus able to predict their reactions. He absolutely detests people changing without him knowing as then he would not have the most updated information. Oz and co. approach Rufus to seek information about the Tragedy of Sablier. Rufus first appears as a round man with a big mustache wearing a big teacup shaped hat. Later, after getting destroyed by Break, it is revealed that the real Rufus created that as an illusion. The real Rufus has long red hair, tired looking eyes and speaks in olden-day Japanese. He was sought by Oz in order to learn more about the Tragedy of Sablier, but instead, they learned about Break's past from him. Sheryl Rainsworth, Sharon's grandmother, is a childhood friend of Rufus and he seems to fear the wrath of the Rainsworth family's women, although in one of the omakes, he is seen entrusting a young Reim with a love letter to Sheryl, his first love. He discovers Arthur Barma's book and decodes it to find out that Jack divided up his body. In chapter 48, it is revealed that his family is from another country. He has a contract with the Dodo.
Reim Lunettes (レイム=ルネット Reimu Runetto)
A member of Pandora. He wears glasses and is a serious person. He is always used and made fun of by Break, Oscar or Vincent, much to his frustration. He accidentally discovers Oz's return from the Abyss. Reim is a rather honest person and is seen to be trusted by most of the Pandora members, and also by Break and Oz. He was put in charge of looking after Oz by Oscar. Rufus Barma is his master. Reim has a close friendship with Break, consoling him after Break loses his eyesight. It is revealed in chapter 49 that Reim is a contractor, and in chapter 51, that his Chain is March Hare, any powers it may have are said to be useless for fighting but what it is exactly has yet to be revealed. He and his team was attacked by Lily who kept him alive, at first because she wanted to have a contractor battle and then because she wanted to be his friend. Despite his qualms about a little girl being one of his enemies, he shot Lily in the head when she nonchantly revealed that the Baskervilles would perform another massacre if Glen ordered it. He appeared to have been killed by Lily precipitating a fight between Break and the Baskervilles. But his ability is revealed to be "False Death" which gives him the appearence of a dead man fooling enemies. Reim's feeling on Lily are unresolved. Reim's Seiyū is Suwabe Junichi.
Miranda Barma (ミランダ=バルマ Miranda Baruma?)
In chapter 39, the cloaked woman who speaks with a young Vincent on how to save his brother is revealed to be Miranda Barma. She offers a way to save Gilbert from his death as Glen Baskerville's next body. She decides to teach Vincent the way to open the doors of the abyss. She planned the Tragedy of Sablier.
Arthur Barma (アーサー=バルマ Āsā Baruma?)
In chapter 41, it is revealed that Arther Barma was the sole witness to the Tragedy of Sabrie. He later wrote a book that was discovered by Rufus Barma. It was revealed that he helped to divide Jack's body into five fragments to create the curse to prevent Glen's consciousness to wake up.

Residents of Baskerville

Glen Baskerville (グレン=バスカヴィル Guren Basukaviru)
Glen was the head of the Baskerville family 100 years ago. According to Lotti, Glen gave the impression that he liked being alone and was difficult to approach. Contrary to his beliefs, he was best friends with the loud Jack Vessalius and even told him about a secret passage so that he could sneak into the Baskerville house. Jack and Glen made a musical pocket watch together. Glen wrote the melody for it while Jack crafted it. The piece he wrote is called "Lacie". One day he suddenly ordered his subordinates to kill everyone in the castle of Sablier, the incident later known as the "Tragedy of Sablier". He was killed by Jack but, according to Jack, Glen is still alive. He controls a chain called Jabberwock which looks like the jabberwocky from Through the Looking-Glass and four others being the Dodo, the Owl, the Griffon, and Raven. It was then revealed in one of Alice's memories that Glen made the pocket watch in the memories of Lacie, a precious person to Glen. The pocketwatch's melody was named after and used to be sung by Lacie. In chapter 37 Oz finally came face to face with Glen in Sablier's memory world, and is shocked when Glen knows him as well as Jack. Having lost Lacie, Glen appears to believe that the world is worthless and that not even hope or despair is left within him. Chapter 39 also implies that Glen might never been a human but a "spirit" that is the Baskerville's head and must continue for eternity thus the necessity of having new bodies through the five chains with black feathers. He reveals to Jack, that his transfer is similar to reincarnation, the he transfer his spirit to another body but he loses his current personality. Glen's next body was supposed to be Gilbert with Raven as the chosen chain. Glen's Seiyū is Kishō Taniyama.
Lottie (ロッティ Lotti)
A bubbly girl with pink hair that kidnaps Oz at Latowidge. She was a participant in the Tragedy of Sablier and killed many under orders. She served the Baskerville house and had feelings for Glen 100 years ago. Her real name is Charlotte, but Jack gave her the nickname Lottie after they met. Lottie can't forgive Jack for killing his supposedly best friend and object of her affection and thus is targeting Oz to talk to Jack. Her main objective was to find their master Glen, and to find out what actually happened on the night of the Tragedy of Sablier. Although she was one of the participants, she acted upon orders, and knew nothing behind the scenes. Hence why they approached Jack for the answers. She controls a chain called "Leon". Break has begun a "friendship" with Lottie as of chapter 41. Retrace 51 implies that Lottie, along with the other Baskervilles, is immortal, as they are "special beings chosen by Abyss." It appears the Baskervilles are more like chains than humans at this point which makes them suceptable to Mad Hatter's power.
Lottie's Seiyū is Megumi Toyoguchi.
Fang (ファング Fangu)
Fang has spiky hair and a tattoo down the left side of his face. He was also a participant in the Tragedy of Sablier. Fang speaks politely and is the most rational of the trio. He wields a large blade. Retrace 51 implies that Fang, along with the other Baskervilles, is immortal, as they are "special beings chosen by Abyss." Despite this, in Retrace 56, Break stabs him through the stomach and he dies by dissipating.
Fang's Seiyū is Takayuki Kondo.
Doug (ダグ Dagu)
Another member of the trio. It's vaguely shown under his hood that he has a tattoo opposite of Fang's on the right side of his face. Not much has been revealed about him. Retrace 51 implies that Doug, along with the other Baskervilles, is immortal, as they are "special beings chosen by Abyss."
Doug's Seiyū is Hiroshi Shirokuma.
Lily (リリィ Rirī)
She is the latest Baskerville to be released from the door of the abyss that the Baskerville's own. A little girl that cries a lot. She controls a chain known as Bandersnatch that is a canine chain. Her mentality goes from an innocent child to a raging sociopath in seconds. In Retrace 51, it is show after being shot in the head by Reim, that she cannot die (she had also reavealed how one becomes a Baskerville). She desires Reim's friendship and is deeply hurt by his rejection, but was happy to see him alive. However, that split second distaction almost got her killed and killed Fang who threw her out of the way and took the fatal blow himself. She also hates Gilbert for having Raven as his chain.

[edit] Others

Lacie (レイシー Reishī?)
Lacie was a very important person to Glen. The melody that Glen composed was named after her. She died as a sacrifice made to Abyss. The tombstone where Oz found the pocket watch is her tomb. It is hinted that Lacie saved Glen when he talks about having found the light in Pandora's box, only to have it snatched away again. It is backed up by an image of Lacie singing and a man in a hood when the subject is being thought about by Glen. It is possible that Alice and Lacie were (are) the same person (Note: "ALICE" is an anagram of "LACIE").
Philippe West (フィリップ=ウェスト Firippu Wesuto?)
Philippe is a young child from a wealthy family, though without a mother and father. Oz saved Philippe from some bullies, and while talking to him saw a reflection of himself in Philippe, particularly that of his father. Phillipe was then attacked by Echo, who was in pursuit of an illegal contractor. Echo thought that Phillipe was the contractor, but it was actually his father. Philippe's father made an illegal contract to try and bring his wife back to life but lost control and was eventually killed by Vincent on grounds that he was about to kill Oz.
After the death of his father, Philippe was taken to the Nightray's orphanage at Sabrie. There, Oz meets him again. Oz tries to apologize for not being able to bring his father back. Philippe denies that his father is dead by saying that he has received a letter from his father. He is later seen talking on the phone with his father, although the phone cord is shown to be severed, leading one to suspect that Philippe is mentally unstable. He is seen again in Retrace 52 at the party taking place at Isla Yura's place when he shows up with Alice wearing a cloak similar to that of the Baskervilles. When Oz and Alice ask him why he's there, he tells them that the kids from the orphanage are participaiting in a 'play' about the Tragedy of Sablier. He and the other House of Fianna children are contracted by the Chain Humpty Dumpty.
Philippe's Seiyū is Kumiko Higa.
The Head Hunter
The head hunter, also known as Humpty Dumpty, is a mysterious killer and a Chain who had targeted the Nightrays in the past, killing Elliot's elder siblings. Humpty Dumpty made its appearance known in Retrace 44 killing everyone in the mansion. The head hunter then proceeds in releasing the seal trapping Glen's soul. Humpty Dumpty has no connections with the Baskervilles and his motives are unknown. It is an illegal contractor revealed by Vincent. The head hunter has a connection with Isla Yura and the religious cult Yura leads. It was later mentioned by Glen that the Head hunter was actually the previous Glen's body. (He said, "once my soul leaves my body, it will turn into a chain." and that "Humpty dumpty is the transformed body of the previous Glen.")
Isla Yura
Isla Yura is first seen as a worshipper of Jack Vessalius. In Retrace 54, he is revealed to be behind the massacre at his house, in an attempt to recreate the Tragedy of Sablier. He believes that the Abyss is a place of happiness and the real tragedy of the Tragedy of Sablier was that the whole world did not enter the Abyss. In Retrace 56, it's shown that he truly doesn't believe this and is only manipulating the people in the occult for an ulterior motive.

TERMINOLOGY
Chains (チェイン Chein)
Beings from the Abyss that were at one point human, transformed by the Intention of the Abyss. They must sign a contract with a human contractor in order to leave the Abyss. Chains involved in illegal contracts must repeatedly consume humans in order to gain power. Some chains, such as Humpty Dumpty, can have multiple contracts. When they do, for each contract it makes, the revolution on an illegal contractor seal will slow down even more.
Contract (契約 Keiyaku)
An agreement between a chain and a contractor. The chain is bound within the contractor and can be called out at will. In return, the contractor provides passage for the chain out of the Abyss. Legal contracts, that were made possible by Pandora, granted the ability never to age the Contractor. In illegal contracts, a clock-like seal appears somewhere on the Contractor's body, over their heart. Each time the chain's powers are drawn, the hand in the seal moves like on a clock. Once the hand makes one full rotation, both the contractor and the chain are dragged into the deepest level of the Abyss.
Contractor (契約者 Keiyakusha)
A human who makes a contract with a chain. There are certain procedures to making a contract, but impromptu contracts can also be made, although they are illegal.
Abyss (アヴィス Abisu)
The world that chains come from. It exists in a different dimension as the world, and as thus, time doesn't truly exist in the Abyss. A person can find themselves in any random time period upon exiting the Abyss, though usually the person is transported forward in time. According to Break, the Abyss can appear as a prison or a broken toy box, depending on the person.
Intention of the Abyss (アヴィスの意志 Abisu no Ishi)
The existence that governs the Abyss. Usually appears in the form of a bloodied rabbit doll with big round eyes. The real form of the Will of the Abyss is similar to Alice but with white hair. She also dresses in white. Apparently the Will of the Abyss wants Oz to go back in the Abyss, and is revealed to be Alice's twin, although so far it had been unclear in what way they are twins. The Will of Abyss was born in the Abyss at the same time that Alice was born in the human world. The Intention of Abyss hates Alice and wishes to destroy her. It is revealed her real name is Alyss, which is pronounced the same as Alice's name.
The Four Great Dukedoms (四大公爵家 Yondai Koushaku Ke)
It currently consists of the Vessalius, Rainsworth, Nightray and Barma family. These four Dukedoms have been in existence before the Tragedy of Sabrie. They founded the Pandora and each hold chains and a door to the Abyss. Of these four houses, the Vessalius and Nightray houses are thought of as exact opposites, like light and dark: the Vessalius house works publicly, while the Nightray house is responsible for doing the behind-the-scenes work.
Before the Tragedy of Sabrie occurred, the Vessalius family was a third class noble family, and thus, not part of the Four Dukedoms. Instead, the fourth Dukedom was the Baskerville house - with Glen as the head. When Jack killed Glen for starting the Tragedy of Sabrie, the Vessalius family was seen as heroes. And thus, the Vessalius substitutes the Baskervilles as the fourth Dukedom. Therefore, the Baskervilles holds the fifth Door to the Abyss.
Pandora (パンドラ Pandora)
An organization founded by the Four Dukedoms. It specializes in research regarding the Abyss.
Tragedy of Sabrie (サブリエの悲劇 Saburie no Higeki)
The city of Sabrie was once the capital city of the world. However, 100 years ago, for unknown reasons, Glen Baskerville used a ritual to send the entire city, with its citizens, into the Abyss. Glen was then supposedly killed by Jack Vessalius.
Doors
Doors are gates to the Abyss that the Four Dukedoms control. Each Dukedom has control over one, with Baskerville holding the last, fifth Door. It is revealed in Chapter 41 that all along, the door of the Baskerville's was hidden in Sabrie, which is under Pandora's control. Yet, Pandora has never thought to look within to find it.
Blood sealing mirrors
An item used to make a legal contract. Instead of the chain drinking the blood of the contractor, the blood gets absorbed into the mirror where a seal is formed, keeping the seal off of the person. If the mirror is broken, you can lose the contract to the chain. It also has a limit on the power you can use.

GOSICK !

Gosick (GOSICK -ゴシック-, Goshikku?) is a Japanese light novel series by Kazuki Sakuraba, published by Fujimi Shobo. Set in a fictional European country in 1924, a Japanese exchange student meets a mysterious, brilliant girl who only leaves the library to sleep. Her brother, a detective, relies on her exceptional mind to solve difficult mysteries. Tokyopop released the first novel in the series in English in April 2008[2] and the second in March 2010. The series has been published in Germany by Tokyopop since November 2006.[3] A manga adaptation started serialization in the shōnen manga magazine Monthly Dragon Age on December 9, 2007. An anime adaptation by Bones premiered on January 7, 2011. Crunchyroll is currently simulcasting the series. Gosick takes place in 1924 in a small, French-speaking fictional European country of Sauville. The story centers on Kazuya Kujo, the third son of a high ranking officer of Japanese Imperial Army, who is a transfer student to St. Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. There he meets Victorique, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl who never comes to class and spends her days reading the entire content of the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can't solve. The series mostly focuses on Kazuya and Victorique getting involved in different mystery cases and their struggle to solve them, at the same time forming important bonds with different people. *MAIN CHARACTERS !
Kazuya Kujo,The main character of the story. As the youngest son of a soldier, Kazuya has spent most of his life struggling with living in his highly successful siblings' shadows. Jealous of all the attention his brothers got, he worked hard to compete, but everything changed when he understood that adults, who think that the youngest child is always spoiled and useless, will never acknowledge his efforts. With a permanent scar in his heart he left the military academy in Japan and before anyone from his family could stop him, went to study abroad to St. Marguerite. Unfortunately, his appearance, combined with the student body's belief that "the traveler who comes in the spring brings death with him" has resulted in Kazuya being called the "Reaper" and having no friends. By some twist of fate he becomes a messenger and companion to the most eccentric pupil in the school, Victorique. At first he didn't like Victorique because of her arrogant attitude, but after some time he started to care for her and be protective of her. It is shown that he is willing to risk his life to protect her on more than one occasion. He is described, by Victorique, as a good and sincere person whose soul is pure and beautiful enough to admit pride. Although he claims to have good academic achievement higher than his older brothers, he can be very dense and slow which is quite contrary. He does have admirable fighting and athletic ability however. It can be assumed that while Kujo has a good memory, he is not good at being creative or applying intelligence to real life. He has to rely on Victorique too much for explanation for even simple things. Despite everything that happened in Japan he is proud to be a soldier's son.
Victorique de Blois, The heroine of the story. Victorique has the appearance of a small (4' 7"), almost doll-like, girl with long golden hair and emerald eyes and a voice that sounds exactly like that of an older woman. Another important part of Victorique's appearance is a pipe that she smokes when thinking about something; though in the anime, it is never shown to be lit or showing her smoking due to her young age. She spends her days at the conservatory at the top of the library, reading several difficult books, often in different languages, simultaneously. She points at one wall of the library and has told Kazuya that she has read almost all the books over there. Along with her sharp tongue, abusive bluntness and eccentric attitude, she possesses a genius level intellect which she applies as a consulting detective. After Victorique saves him from a near-arrest, Kazuya finds himself being entangled in every new mystery. Because her mother, Cordelia Gallo, was a mistress, and according to Victorique "a dangerous person", she was imprisoned in the depths of the de Blois mansion where she developed very un-childlike mannerisms. She was sent off to school under strict orders to never leave the campus (although Grevil sometimes obtains special permission to take her out). When she first met Kazuya she didn't like him and thought that he was annoying and stupid for climbing up all the stairs in the library. She even ignored him and made fun of him, but gradually warmed up to him and began to trust and cherish him. Despite acting harshly towards Kazuya at times, it's clear that she cares deeply for him, as seen any time he is in danger. She enjoys "reconstructing chaos" by solving intricate mysteries and often complains of the boredom that causes her headaches. Victorique's name is spelled "Victorica" on the official Gosick website, likely as a phonetic spelling. Her name is spelled "Victorique" in the first two novels (English translation) and in episode 9 of the anime.[5] All evidences in the novel are that Sauville, the academy and Victorique's family all speak French as their first language. Victorica probably signs her name with the French spelling, "Victorique". In the novels, it is noted that her name is apparently usually a man's, as Avril initially does not believe Victorique is a female student when she is being discussed.
Grevil de Blois,Grevil is an aristocrat who had forced the local police to make him a detective purely because he had an interest in crime. The most noticeable thing in his appearance is his drill-like hairstyle that Kazuya thinks could be used as a deadly weapon. Despite being a terrible detective and always having to rely on Victorique to solve his crimes, he usually refuses to acknowledge that she even exists. When he comes to the library he speaks about the case that troubles him to Kazuya, saying that it helps him to clarify his thoughts. Kazuya tries to get him to tell it to Victorique, which he ignores. Victorique tells Kazuya to chat with the detective, that she will just read her books; if she says anything to herself, pay no attention. This is because he is Victorique's half brother and even if they are family they could never acknowledge each other in public. He has however been shown to care for her and is implied to have become a detective and ignore Victorique in order to cure her boredom and care for her behind their father's back. His mother was their father's proper wife and because he is the eldest son he takes all the glory for solving crimes and will take over after their father dies. He is described by Victorique as a heel and a playboy. It is revealed that he is in love with his childhood friend Jacqueline and helped her with her previous case. His drill-like hairstyle is the price for making Victorique solve the case.
Avril Bradley, An international student from Great Britain. Because she and Kazuya were both from abroad, they quickly found common ground and were able to talk freely. Is a beautiful girl with short blond hair and blue eyes. It is hinted that she has feelings for Kazuya. She represents Kazuya's ordinary ties to the school, apart from his adventures with Victorique. She also enjoys eating and is fond of ghost stories. Through the first novel she has not met Victorique. In the anime the real Avril Bradley was kidnapped on the way to the academy and replaced by Keiran II, the successor of the famous thief Keiran who mysteriously disappeared eight years prior. This thief wishes to continue his legacy by stealing the priceless works of famous artists and writers, etc., and was after a rare stamp that Avril's grandfather, a famed adventurer, had intended to give to her. She was rescued by Kujo, and later in the nurse's office said she thought he was a "black-haired prince". Ironically, because the thief knew in high details of the real Avril, it wasn't hard for Kazuya to reestablish a friendship with the real Avril, who even developed feelings for him, but has a hard time trying to get closer to him due to his dedication to Victorique. In episode 14, she confessed her love for Kujo to Victorique but Victorique left before she can hear Avril's confession.
Brian Roscoe, A famous magician whom Kujo regularly encounters. After Victorique proves Cordelia Gallo's innocence, he is seen beside Cordelia commenting that her "sin" has been burned together with the only bridge connecting the Grey Wolves' village to the outside world. During the First World War, he used his capabilities as an illusionist, along with a magic lantern, to disrupt a German bombing run on the "Beelzebub's Skull" convent in Lithuania - a huge projection of the Virgin Mary. He was the one who helped Cordelia escape from the sanitarium she was left by Albert after Victorique's birth. Since then they have been working together to oppose the Marquis' intentions. Later is revealed that Brian is not a single individual, but a pair of identical twins who share the same appearance and name. Both care deeply but Cordelia, but one of the twins made clear even to her that the circumstances of Victorique's birth prevent him from having similar feelings for the child.

07-GHOST ! desu desu yo~

*PLOT STORY : Teito Klein is a former slave who now attends the Barsburg Empire's military academy due to his ability to use Zaiphon, a type of supernatural power. The ability is rare and thus highly prized. Teito is an amnesiac who frequently has frightening dreams. After a year at the academy, Teito prepares to take the notoriously difficult graduation exam. The night before the exam, Teito and his only friend, Mikage, swear they will never abandon each other if the other needs help. Both of them pass the exam. The next day, Teito hears people talking about him. Stopping to listen, he suddenly realizes that the speaker, Chief of Staff Ayanami, is the person who killed the familiar man in his dreams: his father, the king of the destroyed Raggs Kingdom. Teito is caught eavesdropping and tries to attack Ayanami but is quickly brought down by one of his subordinates and sent to prison. Mikage comes to help him escape, only to find that Teito has managed to fight past the guards by himself. The two flee the building but are cornered on a balcony. Teito pretends to hold Mikage hostage, threatening to kill him if the guards pursue him, thus making his escape, though he is wounded by a Zaiphon blast that Ayanami directs at him. Three bishops in the nearby 7th District discover the injured Teito and take him to a nearby church to recuperate. Because of the 7th District's law of sanctuary, as long as Teito stays in the church, the army cannot arrest him. In due time, it is discovered that Teito carries the Eye of Mikhail, a powerful talisman for which his home country, the Raggs Kingdom, was destroyed. This fact, as well as a fateful reunion, catapults Teito into a quest for revenge against the Barsburg Empire and for knowledge about his past. At the same time, his status as the bearer of the Eye of Mikhail throws him into the long-standing conflict between the evil Verloren and his enemies, the 07 Ghosts *SETTINGS : Zaiphon Zaiphon is the "magic" of 07-Ghosts's world, the ability to convert life energy into various forms of power (it is Zaiphon that keeps the continent floating). It is controlled by converting strong emotions into energy, and the power that comes from Zaiphon often takes the shape of words, though people may use weapons to channel said energy. Those who have the ability to use Zaiphon are rare and thought to be blessed by God. Every user's capabilities are different, and in many cases, reflect their nature. Zaiphon is generally categorized into three types: * Healing Zaiphon: People with healing Zaiphon are able to heal wounds and share or transfer their Zaiphon to others. Characters who primarily use healing Zaiphon are Labrador, Assistant Archbishop Bastien, Ouka, and Capella. * Offensive Zaiphon: People with offensive Zaiphon can attack enemies and protect themselves from attacks directed at them. Characters who primarily use offensive Zaiphon are Teito, Mikage, Ayanami, Hakuren, Frau, and Capella. * Manipulation Zaiphon: People with manipulation Zaiphon (which is particularly rare) can move other objects at will. Castor uses this type of Zaiphon. It is possible to learn to use more than one version of Zaiphon; however, people who can successfully do so are few and far between. There are a variety of weapons used to manipulate Zaiphon, the most common being the bascule. With the bascule, people can channel their Zaiphon and use it for several purposes. Different types of Zaiphon have different effects when used through a bascule: those with healing Zaiphon cannot directly attack a Kor, but they can restrict and remove Kor from afflicted people, and those with offensive Zaiphon can directly attack a Kor. *07-Ghosts and Verloren According to a centuries-old myth, the God of Death, Verloren (Dutch or German for Lost), 'killed' the daughter of the Chief of Heaven and was forced to escape to the earth. In retribution, Verloren invaded the hearts of the people, who slipped into despair. Lamenting over the people's suffering, the Chief of Heaven dispatched seven heavenly lights in order to punish Verloren. Called the "Seven Ghosts", they are said to have sealed Verloren on the earth and served forevermore as the guardians of the Empire. Mothers often tell their children that if they are naughty, the Seven Ghosts will come to take them away. Though Verloren has been sealed away in Pandora's Box for over 1000 years, his messengers, the Kor, find and contact humans to bring them under his influence. If a contract is made, a mark appears on the person's chest. This is known as "Verloren's curse," and it indicates one's heart being eaten by darkness. One of the duties of the "07-Ghosts" is to fight against Verloren and his curse and try to stop contracts from being fulfilled. Only the Bishops can remove Verloren's curse. The 07-Ghosts are embodied in humans with such extraordinary Zaiphon abilities that they are considered to be blessed by God. They were originally fragments of Verloren, and they were sent down to the earth by the Chief of Heaven in order to stop Verloren. Each of the 07-Ghosts has died in his previous life, and they all retain their memories of their past lives. Frau, Castor, Labrador, Fia Kreuz and Lance have been revealed to be Ghosts thus far; all of them have the mark of their Ghosts on their hands. The Ghosts' names are Sichel/(Zehel), Fest, Profe, Landkarte/(Randkalt), Relikt, Ea and Vertrag. Each of the Ghosts has a specific power: Sichel / Zehel - 斬魂 "the cutting spirit" (Frau; the Ghost who severs bonds, especially one's ties to misfortune) Fest - 繋魂 "The Tying Spirit" (Castor; the Ghost who binds souls together) Profe - 言魂 "The Speaking Spirit" (Labrador; the Ghost who prophesies) Relikt - 遺魂 "The Bequeathing Spirit" (Lance; the Ghost who sees one's past) Vertrag - 契魂 "The Pledging Spirit" (Fea Kreuz; the Ghost who manipulates souls) Landkarte / Randkalt - 消魂 "The Extinguishing Spirit" (unknown) Ea - 醒魂 "The Awaking Spirit" (unknown) As many names in 07-Ghost originate from German words, these names should also be related to German. However, some translations have been contested with some degree of confusion and speculation. Sichel/Zehel - More commonly appears as "Zehel" but the correct German translation is "Sichel", which means "sickle" or "scythe" due to his choice of weapon. Fest - Sometimes also written as "Feste", may come from the German adjective stem "fest" meaning fixed or firm as in "feste freunde"(fast friends). By extension of meaning "feste" also refers to a stronghold or fortress in German, in this context the word might carry connotations of military comradery. Profe - An alteration of the word "Prophet" which has the same meaning in German and English. Relikt - Means "relic" in German. Vertrag - Means "contract" in German. Landkarte/Landkalt/Randkalt - This is possibly the most debated name. In German, "Landkarte" means "map". The name Landkarte may be consistent with the intended meaning of "the extinguishing spirit", because what does not exist on a map may not exist at all. It can be seen in many wars, razing a town to the ground effectively extinguishes it from maps. "Rand" in German means "edge" or "border" and "kalt" means "cold". The combination, "Randkalt", is not a German word. Ea - In Japanese katakana writing, the English word 'air' is pronounced "Ea. Considering the pronunciation, the related German words may be "Ära" (meaning "era"), "Ehe" ("marriage") or "eher" ("earlier"). [edit] The Three Dreams When a person is given a life from the Chief of the Heavens, they choose three dreams to complete over the course of their lifetime. When all the dreams are granted, their souls will be called back to the Chief and be reincarnated. However, when people are born they do not remember the dreams they chose, and finding out the dreams is supposedly the joy of life. There are evil beings who want to interfere with this process; among them are Verloren's messengers, the Kor, who steal dreams and drag humans into darkness. When a human's first dream is granted by a Kor, the person's heart becomes unstable and unable to be satisfied no matter what he or she does. When the second dream is granted, the person falls into a state of starvation or addiction. When the third dream is granted, the soul has indulged in too much darkness and becomes forever unable to return to the Chief of Heaven. The Kor then takes the body; a possessed body with all three dreams fulfilled by the Kor is called a Wars (warusa means "evil" in Japanese), and they serve Verloren. A dark magician who can control the Wars is called a Warsfile. It is the duty of the church to protect people from the Kor, because the feeling of addiction is very difficult to remove. There are cases when a Kor may grant a wish that is not one of the three dreams, but it upsets the equilibrium and the Kor may be punished for it. [edit] The Eyes of Mikhail and Raphael The Eyes of Mikhail and Raphael are a set of holy stones that can be embedded into the body, allowing the Archangels Mikhail and Raphael to descend into a host's body for a limited time. They are undetectable until they possess their host's body, whereupon the stone appears in the host's hand, the host's eye color changes, and they become able to wield godlike powers with Zaiphon. Before the storyline of "07-Ghost," the royal family of the Kingdom of Raggs held the Eye of Mikhail and the Barsburg Empire held the Eye of Raphael. A pact was established between both countries never to seize the other Eye; however, the Barsburg Empire broke this pact ten years prior to the storyline. The Eyes' full usages are unknown; however, thus far, the Eye of Mikhail has been used to seal Verloren's original body in Pandora's Box, and the Eye of Raphael has been said to be able to reincarnate Verloren's soul in human bodies.[2] It is also stated in the anime that: 'According to a thousand years of the Judgment of Heaven, By the Eye of Mikhael (Michael), the sealed body of Verloren has been kept asleep for more than one thousand years… And by the Eye of Raphael, his powers are lost. And so, Verloren’s soul continues to wait for a human body fit for its reincarnation *MAIN CHARACTERS
*Teito Klein,The protagonist of the story. His real name is Wahrheit Tiashe Raggs, son of Weldeschtein Krom Raggs, and he is the prince of the former Raggs Kingdom. However, after being entrusted with the Eye of Mikhail during the invasion by the Barsburg Empire, his identity was hidden and he was raised by his uncle, Fea Kreuz, as a church orphan. Upon the death of Kreuz, he was made into a combat slave, but eventually entered the Barsburg military academy and became known as a star pupil. He is a clever student and very talented, making him one of the best students despite other students' mockery. At the start of the manga, Teito makes a promise with his best (and only) friend, Mikage, that they will always be there for each other.[5] Unfortunately, Mikage gives up his life to protect Teito from the Empire. This crushes Teito emotionally and he swears revenge, even though Mikage told him not to. At the 7th District Church he starts studying to become a priest so he can gain a priest's advantages on his way to revenge: less stringent inspections at borders, access to information and free room and board at any inn in the Empire. Teito is often teased because of his short stature by Mikage, Frau and others, who often treat him like a child or mistake him for one, which annoys him to no end. While training with Mikage using Zaiphon, Mikage even engraves the word 'chibi' (small) to tease him. It is later revealed in a flashback that the reason for his shortness is probably because he only took pills instead of eating proper meals while he was a slave and a student at the military school. At the beginning of the story, Teito is a cold and serious student due to his only memories being those of a combat slave whose only purpose was to kill criminals. He is initially cold to Mikage as well, although the two eventually become good friends. Strangely, according to the academy chairman, Miroku, Teito's greatest weakness is his compassion, despite all the hardships he has gone through. For example, during the military exam which required him to kill a condemned criminal in order to pass, Teito refused to do so, stating that there was no reason to do so. Ayanami then intervened and killed the criminal instead, mocking Teito for being weak. His compassion is more obvious as the story progresses: he resists Mikhail's control to avoid killing Bastien (even though Bastien was going to kill him), he gives a scarf he brought for Frau to a homeless old man, he tracks down Capella's mother and gives Capella back to her despite his attachment to him and he rescues a soul from the wish of someone possessed by a Kor who felt its sadness. While he was a slave, he often saw other children with their mothers and could not remember ever having a family. The only person who cared about him as a slave was a mute maid in the manor where he lived. Before leaving to go to military school, Teito brought her a feather, promising that someday she would be free as well. It is shown at the end of the flashback sequence that she still has a framed picture of Teito and is shown looking at it fondly. It is later shown that Teito was the heir to the throne of the Raggs Kingdom, his real name being Wahrheit Tiashe Raggs. However, he was the son of a concubine, causing the Queen to despise him. She later makes a deal to the Pope and gives Teito's body to him. The Pope seals Verloren's body within Teito, which makes him 'The Pandora's Box' that seals Verloren as well as the vessel for a being that is essentially the source of all evil on Earth. The King was not aware of this because the Queen and Pope constructed a false body to fake Teito's death, concealing the fact that he was made into Pandora's Box. Their plan is somewhat foiled by Bishop Fia Kruez, or 'The Father', who used his power as one of the Seven Ghosts (the Ghost of the Raggs House of God, Vertrag) to subdue Verloren's body, sealing it temporarily. The identity of any one of the Seven Ghosts must remain a secret, however, so nobody believes Fia Kruez's word against the Pope. This is the origin of the 'lie' (that Kruez committed the unforgivable act of stealing Pandora's Box). To ensure Teito's soul will not be overcome by Verloren's sealed body, saving his life, the King makes Teito become the Vessel of the Eye of Mikhail very early in life. Interestingly, the Eye of Mikhail protects Teito from Verloren while simultaneously being the one thing that can open Pandora's Box. At this time, the Barsburg Kingdom attacks the Raggs Kingdom under the impression that Raggs made a declaration of war, since the messenger that Raggs sent to tell Barsburg about the Pope was killed. This caused Barsburg to believe that Raggs stole Pandora's Box. It's revealed that Fea Kruez is the younger brother of the King — making 'Father' Teito's blood uncle. This explains why Kreuz has been around Teito since the beginning. It also brings up the possibility that Teito himself may become a Ghost, as he is the last of the bloodline of the Raggs God House. Teito has a combat slave tattoo on his back which he got from the Queen out of jealousy because the king favored him over her (he also is not her son, which exacerbates the issue). During his fight against Ayanami, he gets a slave collar around his neck. Later, Frau accidentally invokes a blood contract when he attempts to get the collar off, making him Teito's 'master'. This enables him to use three commands that Teito must obey: Sleep, Bind, and Pain. In a humorous scene, Castor states that he should not have informed Frau about the commands, implying that Frau will probably abuse this power. However, in actuality, Frau has only used the command 'Sleep' twice in self-defense. The collar will explode if Teito separates from Frau, the collar's master, for over 48 hours. Teito is very skilled with the Bascules, once even exceeding the Zaiphon limit for it during training.[6] He is very agile and an excellent runner after having trained with Castor's puppets, and manages to get through the examinations on his first try with Hakuren. His slave number was 2741. It is hinted by Mikhail that Teito is the best vessel he has ever had. In the Hauzen House Arc, Teito found out from Castor's servant that Castor, whose original name is Shinruu, is actually dead. This led to considerable confusion, as he could not figure out why he saw Castor still alive at the church. Teito was later attacked by a Wars in the doll of Shinruu's mother. Teito posed as Shinruu and forgave her, then defeated the Wars. As Teito left, Fest/Castor appeared and asked if Teito had the courage to accept the "curse" -- that is, the first of the seven 'cursed tickets' needed to reach the Land of Seele.[7] He later received the second one from Profe/Labrador. Later, he went to the Barsburg Empire's 5th District, formerly the Raggs Kingdom. He met the Imperial Princess, Ouka, who holds the Eye of Raphael. After being abducted by Lem, he found out that he coincidentally went into the Krat's, one of the God Houses, where he found Profe. After Lem's soul was freed, Teito received the second cursed ticket, leaving Ouka after exchanging their real names and giving her a doll he made at the church to thank her for the jewel she gave him. Teito receives extra abilities as the master of the Eye of Mikhail, such as advanced hearing and a sixth sense. More are said to be sleeping within him. His birthday is the 1st of December. He ranked first in the latest popularity poll in Monthly Comic Zero Sum.[8] In chapter 70, he participated in the Hawkzile Race with Frau in order to sneak into the 1st District, but he was stopped by the Black Hawks there and was captured by Ayanami.
Mikage's reincarnation
Mikage,Teito's best friend, Mikage comes from a family of stewards. Despite the fact that his closeness with Teito makes him a target of some students' ill will in the academy, he remains a bright and cheerful person. His relationship with Teito involves a lot of Mikage teasing Teito, Teito beating him up in return, and his urging Teito to eat more. The two are very close, promising each other that they will die together and will always be "the best of friends". Mikage also teaches Teito about meeting friends and having compassion. After learning of Castor's family's grief for their son, he tells Seilan, "Mikage had told me... that if two people were together sadness would also be halved..."[9] Mikage often tries to get Teito to loosen up, telling him that if he smiles and laughs more, he will grow taller. After his death, Teito still finds it hard to go on without his best friend, once stating that "When Mikage died... I felt like a part of me died as well". Because of him, Teito begins his quest to all seven "Houses of God" in order to receive the 'cursed tickets', which will enable him to travel to the Land of Souls and trade his life for Mikage's, discovering more about his forgotten past and about the Seven Ghosts in the process. Before Mikage lost his life, he begs Teito not to look for revenge, but instead to keep walking towards the light. This shakes Teito's beliefs, because Mikage was his 'light'.[10] Later, Mikage is reincarnated as a small, furry, pink dragon. Frau explains that it's because he wished to protect Teito, no matter the form. The fyulong dragon, Mikage, apparently fell from his nest. Frau managed to find him and bring him to Teito so they could be together. While traveling to another House of God, Teito comes across the fyulong's mother, who demands to have her child back (the dragons can talk and grow to a huge size, which surprises Teito quite a bit). At that time, Frau confessed that the fyulong Teito had was actually stolen from his mother, "because you would not be able to stop crying if you couldn't see him (Mikage) again at the time". The mother tells Teito that even though Burupya is the reincarnation of Mikage, he has no memories of his previous life and does not belong with people. She also states that it is strange how her child is unable to talk or fly while his siblings can talk and fly already, and that it's the result of Frau and Teito's selfish deed. Right before Teito lets Mikage go, fyulong Mikage is changed into a young Mikage for a few seconds, who points to the words on the walls that say "We'll always be the best of friends", his last words. However, when the dragons leave, Mikage drops from the sky, tackling Teito to the ground, staying by Teito's side instead of leaving with the rest of the dragons. Even after his death, Teito still cares about Mikage very much; when Teito is struggling with learning how to use the Bascules, Bastien tells him that he needs to think of his feelings for God in his heart. Teito then thinks, "Though I don't really know anything about God, I'm thinking of you... Mikage."[11] As a result, using his Bascules, he accidentally blows up the training grounds. *Mikage is easily recognizable by the small X shaped scar on his chin; he got it a long time ago when he was sparring with his older brother.[12] Burupya has a similar scar on his head. Mikage also has a little sister and they seem to be close. His birthday is the 3rd of March, and he is aged 15 at the beginning of the story.
*Frau,A perverted Bishop, he saves Teito's life when Teito falls from his hawkzile. He is the member of the 07-Ghosts known as 'Zehel'.[13] He finds Mikage (as a small dragon) for Teito and accidentally becomes Teito's 'Master' when he attempts to remove Teito's promise collar, thereby invoking a blood contract. This collar gives Frau the ability to use three commands on Teito: bind, sleep and pain. For all his teasing, Frau also keeps Teito's spirits up with impromptu pep-talks. His relation with Ayanami is as of yet unknown. Frau is the only Ghost who can wield Verloren's scythe, though how he managed to get this scythe is currently unknown. His catch phrase before every battle is "May God be with you". Frau was adopted by the church and became Bastian's disciple when he was caught in the large scale 'thief subjugation' across the Empire. All of his friends died and he did not believe in God; nevertheless, he was so powerful with Zaiphon that it was rumored he was a child blessed with God's strength. While Frau was a wild child, constantly getting into trouble, he and Bastian ended up having a good relationship similar to that between a father and son. When he was very young, Frau used to sneak out of the church at night and remove Kor from those afflicted by it, something extremely difficult that only trained bishops are usually capable of doing. Frau was so talented in fighting with Kor that he holds the all-time highest score for the examination — in fact, all of those being tested that day had to be regraded separately, as Frau's light completely erased everyone's darkness.[14] When Frau and Castor are reminiscing about when they took the exam, Frau says how he got stuck with the worst partner ever. Castor is infuriated by his comment, saying that that was his line, implying that they were partners in the examination. He enjoys teasing and annoying Teito about how he looks like a small child. Although he is very tall and intimidating, the church orphans adore him, often getting him to play games with them. Frau fancies himself as a ladies' man, flirting with the nuns and any pretty women he sees. Despite his tough looks and rough exterior, Frau's is actually very caring and cares very much for people, especially Teito. This is shown through protecting him from danger and carrying him when he's hurt. He even says that his meeting with Teito for the first time is not coincidence, but fate. When Teito came to save him from prison, Frau ordered him to turn back and ensured him that things would be okay. But before Teito left he said, "Can I just ask one favor? If you really want me to feel at ease, smile for me." He also dedicated a verse to Teito that said "As long as you keep anything about me within you, my heart will be with you." It is also mentioned that after Teito found out about Zehel's desire to devour his soul, that Frau regards him as his only ray of light, as Labrador had stated about Teito being the only one who could possibly tame Frau from reverting into darkness. After Bastien's death, Frau pretends not to be bothered since he has seen many deaths before, but Teito scolds him for not properly grieving because Bastien was so important to Frau. A little while after the funeral, the nuns find that a new sprout had grown from one of the trees at the church; it is implied that this is Bastien's reincarnation. At the end of the chapter, Frau is shown sitting in the tree, reunited with his mentor. He has a cross-shaped tattoo on the small of his back. In chapter 52, page 30, his nails become claws and he grew fangs, indicating the scythe may be corrupting him.
*Castor,Another bishop, he convinces Teito to take the examination to enter the priesthood. The training he puts Teito through is vigorous and often involves his 'dolls', life-sized puppets he controls with Zaiphon. He is one of the 07-Ghosts, 'Fest'. His name used to be Shinruu Hauzen (シンルー=ハウゼン) and he was the thirteenth head of the family in a House of God (Hausen House). His father often ignored him and he felt neglected, so Castor spent most of his time inside his room making replica dolls of his mother, who "was the only one allowed to spoil him". He was so talented that he was widely recognized as a genius.[15] After a successful mission, Castor hears someone singing and finds Razette, a young mermaid, in a tank. He frees her and she is immediately taken with him. The two become friends and companions, with Razette continuously trying to cheer Castor up; using her power to replicate any face, she changes her appearance to that of Castor's and smiles, causing him to burst into tears. After that day, Razette taught him how to smile.[16] Although he was the next heir in the God House, he had no interest in becoming the head of the family, telling Razette, "I'd like to become a puppet master. You'll sing, and I'll use my puppets. We'll perform on a grand stage, and travel the world together like that.".[17] Their plan, however, was interrupted when the Raggs War began; they fought against the Barsburg Empire, resulting in defeat. In order to save their families, they had to bring the head of their house's master. Castor's father revealed that he actually cared about him a lot, saying that he could not give up his only beloved son. His father suggests that Razette changes her face to Castor's in the hope that bringing the fake will convince the Empire. Just as he is about to kill Razette, Castor intervenes and is mortally wounded by the sword. Upon being told the story by Seilan, Shinruu's butler, while visiting the House of God, Teito is stunned because he recognizes Castor from the photos of Shinruu. Teito asks him if Shinruu survived the stab wound and is told that the young heir has died, which confuses Teito because he knows Castor and Razette are living quite happily back at the church. It becomes apparent that Castor became a Ghost when he died; this explains why he never told his family that he was still alive because the identity of the 07 Ghosts must remain a secret. After he became a Ghost and "woke up" after his death, Razette was lying dead by his side, having killed herself in grief over Castor's death. As her soul was still in her body, he was able to use his new Ghost powers to tie his body together with her soul, allowing her to live again by sharing his life force. After Teito discovers that Castor and Frau are both one of the Seven Ghosts, Castor decides to wipe away Teito's memories of the incident, because their identities must remain a secret. Frau, however, stops him, telling him that if he takes away Teito's memories of when Frau revealed himself as Zehel, Teito will not remember Mikage's last smile (Frau transformed to save him when Mikage was possessed by Ayanami). His power as a ghost is that he can tie together the souls of living beings. With this it means he can resurrect dead bodies, on the condition that the soul is still in the body and it was not a natural death. He was seen doing this to a dead dog, letting it live on by sharing the life force with its owner. He used this power the first time after becoming a ghost in resurrecting Razette. As their souls were now bound together, this bypassed the rule that the Ghosts cannot contact people from their past. Castor has lost one of his arms and one eye when he protected Labrador from being devoured by Ayanami. Later, he and Labrador went to Frau and Teito because they're worried about their plan to enter the 1st District. His birthday is the 24th of December.
*Labrador,A bishop whose hobby is gardening and brewing herbs to make medicine. He was first introduced when Frau found Teito and brought him back to the church. He gives Teito a flower of protection at the start of the manga which later saves his life during an encounter with a Kor. He also gives Teito a drink made from sweet flowers to heal his 'wounds of the heart'. During battles, he is able to use flowers and vines as weapons with his manipulation zaiphon. He is also able to communicate with flowers. It has been confirmed by an omake, and later in chapter 46 of the manga, that he is indeed a Ghost, known as 'Profe'. His powers as a Ghost grant him the gift of foresight, which allowed him to aid Teito before Teito's first encounter with a Kor. He does not wish to kill Veloren, only for him to live in the world as a proper human. His real name is Ilyusha, which is discovered by Teito and co. through the memories of Lem, his old friend. He is the grandson of the Krat family's leader and spent most of his time in his greenhouse. Lem and his younger sister, Lirin, were orphans that the Krat household adopted. The three of them were close friends. Labrador (Ilyusha) had precognitions from an early age, allowing him to 'see' where medicinal herbs would grow. Lirin was a sickly child, often falling sick until at one point, her illness could not be cured. Krat told Lem about 'The Flower of Eden'- a mystical flower said to not only able to heal any illness, but also any sadness. Lem urges Ilyusha to tell him about the said flower. A few days later, a sealed letter filled with petals arrived. In it was written; "If you burn these petals as incense, Lirin would definitely be happy." Grateful, Lem hurried to Ilyusha's greenhouse, only to discover the imperial soldiers sealing the place off. Ilyusha had been devoured by the forbidden flower - The Flower of Eden. Blinded by grief, Lem sealed Ilyusha's body and Profe's seal together, calling it 'his most precious treasure in the world. His birthday is 8 January. Later, Castor and he reunited and accompanied Teito and Frau during second day of Hawkzile race.
*Ayanami,The main antagonist, he is the man who killed Teito's 'Father' in the war against Raggs and seeks the Eye of Mikhail. Not much is shown about Ayanami's past except that he comes from a fallen noble family. Because of his birth, some colleagues dislike him and constantly give him a hard time.[23] On the surface he is respected, as he is greeted by salutes by officers whose ranks are lower than his, but some officers talk about Ayanami disrespectfully behind his back as well.[24] In one chapter in the manga, when the Barsburg officers hear that Ayanami is leading 500 soldiers to Antwort to reinforce them, they say that the Black Hawks (Ayanami and his personal subordinates) are monsters and they do not want to fight with them. In many people's views, Ayanami is unfeeling and does not value humans' lives. There is opposing evidence to this viewpoint, however. In episode 19, although his subordinate, Kuroyuri, is willing to die for him, he refuses to abandon him/her even if it puts himself in danger. In one of the drama CDs, he goes to the grave of his closest Begleiter, Yukikaze, and talks to him gently. As the Barsburg Empire's Chief of Staff, he can be a cold and merciless character who does not hesitate to kill in order to accomplish his mission. He is very dedicated to his country, and his nationalism provides the motive for many of his actions. His cruelty is shown when he holds Mikage in for questioning after Teito escaped: he gives Mikage a choice between Teito and Mikage's family. When Mikage expresses that he will not abandon Teito, Anayami possesses Mikage's soul and when Mikage finally finds Teito, he takes over his body and forces him to attack Teito. In the end, Teito and Frau are forced to kill Mikage, which takes its toll on Teito emotionally. When asked, Ayanami told Hyuuga, a member of the Black Hawks and his former classmate[25] that it is necessary to kill Mikage in front of Teito's very own eyes so that Teito would come after him himself instead of shunning him. But it seems that he has not harmed Mikage's sister at all, even though Mikage chose Teito. In one of the lighthearted official doujinshi titled Supreme Sugar, Ayanami is shown taking care of his pets, but all the animals are afraid of him, except for his black panthers which lick him affectionately. It is later revealed in chapter 46 that Ayanami is the reincarnation of the spirit of Verloren. Usually Verloren reincarnates within a human body every time one dies, but Ayanami has remembered that he is Verloren. Ayanami confirms to Labrador that he wants his original body and power back, and will stop at nothing to get it. He also reveals the Seven Ghosts are actually fragments of his body so he will get them back as well. Verloren was deeply in love with the Chief of Heaven's daughter, Eve, and the Chief of Heaven accused him of killing her. When she died, he went to Earth and took people's souls in order to find hers, taking as many as possible until the Chief sent the Seven Ghosts to execute him (though they couldn't kill him because he was very powerful. They could only sealed his body and soul separately with the two Eyes). He was created by the Chief of Heaven and was considered his "Greatest Creation". His motto is "Without strength, justice is incompetence" thats all . sorry i cant make a gallery photos like before, because i just had a much og these.
